Until November 2011 Dr Suba Rajamany will be working with us, during her final year of GP training. She is a trained and experienced doctor who has worked in Kent for several years before transferring back to the Midlands.
Also working with us are Dr Mohan Mariappan; he is with us part-time in combination with working in the hospital in the Rheumatology department - he will be in surgery on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. Dr Syeda Ahmad; she is working here full time from Monday to Friday and both will be here until February 2011.
We are now able to offer the pneumococcal vaccination to all patients over the age of 65, as well as those with Diabetes.
This is recommended to prevent pneumococcal pneumonia, a relatively common and dangerous condition as you get older.
The jab is a one-off vaccination, with life long protection.
